Albert Contador News

3-time Tour De France winner, Albert Contador, tested positive for a banned substance. Contador’s rebuttal is that he tested positive because of a steak he ate days prior. This sounds like the story of the girl who claimed she got pregnant from eating fish.

Experts have come to his defense, saying that the drug Contador is being accused of taking, clenbuterol, is often illegally given to cows to make them bigger. Contador is vowing to clear his name so that this latest scandal does not take away from his great accomplishments.

When Contador was asked on his stance regarding the matter he had this to say, “I vow to clear my name and prove my innocence and not to let this scandal destroy everything that I have done.”

Contador went on to say, “The UCI itself told me to my face that it was a case of food contamination.”

Whether the use of this banned substance was accidental or on purpose, in all likelihood the UCI is going to take the most recent Tour De France victory away from Albert Contador.
