New York Yankees Clinch Playoff Berth

The infamous New York Yankees have officially clinched a playoff spot for the 2010 MLB playoff race. Just minutes ago the Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 6-1.

With C.C Sabathia as the Yankees pitcher winning his 21st game with the Yankees this season, the Yankees are on their way to their 15th playoff appearance in the last 16 years.

Sabathia is 21-7 this season and allowed only one run and three hits against the Jays today. Sabathia has matched Andy Pettitte’s 21 wins in 1996 and 2003 for the most wins by a Yankee since Ron Guidry went 22-6 in 1985. These are pretty impressive numbers for a team that MLB fans love to hate.
